Step inside Red Hook’s oldest public building for a special Hardscrabble Day Open House and be among the first to experience Historic Red Hook’s new immersive tavern exhibit.

Launching on Hardscrabble Day, the exhibit invites visitors to explore the Elmendorph Inn’s history as a lively place of travel, conversation, food, drink, business, and community life. Enjoy hands-on history activities, family-friendly displays, and a fresh look at the stories that make the Inn central to Red Hook’s past and present.

This exhibit is part of Historic Red Hook’s 2026 Rev250 programming and is made possible in part by Dutchess County’s 2026 Rev250 Programming Grant.
