Kitchen Table Conversation - Town Comprehensive Plan

  • Historic Red Hook 7562 North Broadway Red Hook, NY, 12571 United States (map)

The Town of Red Hook is updating its comprehensive plan (last updated in 1993).  A comprehensive plan is a policy guidance document that identifies the goals, objectives, and principles that guide the protection, enhancement, and growth of a municipality. In essence, a comprehensive plan answers the question, ‘What do we want our town to look and feel like now and in the future?’ A comprehensive plan forms the basis for future decisions about zoning, land use and other important issues.

HRH is hosting a special meeting to hear what our community members, residing in the town of Red Hook, envision for the future of Red Hook. This gathering and discussion, termed a "Kitchen Table Conversation", will be facilitated by Courtney Zwart, a member of the Community Engagement Subcommittee for this process (and also a long-time HRH member).  Your ideas, goal and priorities relate on the following topics will be gathered:
- Quality of life
- A livable built environment
- A resilient economy
- A sustainable natural environment

The findings from our meeting will be documented and submitted to the Comprehensive Plan Steering Committee for consideration for the plan.

We will gather for this on Thursday, December 4 from 6-7:30p at the Elmendorph Inn.
